  • NatMag announces 30 Days of Fashion & Beauty 2009

  • World-renowned celebrity photographer, Lorenzo Agius, to guest artist at Gala Party

Thursday 4 June, 2009. The National Magazine Company (NatMag), Hearst Corporation's principal business in the UK, today proudly announces the launch of 30 Days of Fashion & Beauty 2009, the biggest ever yearly fashion and beauty event held in the UK.

The leading UK publisher is also delighted to announce that Boots UK has again agreed to sponsor the 2009 event, and world-renowned celebrity photographer, Lorenzo Agius, will curate an exhibition for the event's Gala Party on September 21.

30 Days of Fashion & Beauty is a stylish multi-media event taking place in September 2009 involving some of the world's leading fashion and beauty brands, reaching more than 10 million women across the UK.

First launched by NatMag in 2008, 30 Days of Fashion & Beauty celebrates the passions and interests of its readers while offering an innovative platform to drive sales for advertisers. During September, the programme is packed with magazine-led initiatives, amazing in store competitions, fashion shows, cocktail parties, fashion workshops, consumer makeovers and an exciting charity auction.

A highlight of the 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty calendar is the 30 Days Gala Party taking place during the height of London Fashion week on September 21, at the Natural History Museum.

Lorenzo Agius, who first shot to prominence in 1996 with his seminal images for the groundbreaking film Trainspotting, will curate a photographic exhibition of his own works, showcasing British fashion and beauty, which will be unveiled at the 30 Days Gala Party.  The exhibition will then open to the public at a London gallery and a percentage of profits from the sale of the photographs will be donated to Breast Cancer Care.

The 30 Days team, led by Brand Director, Sinem Shacolas, is working hard to develop this year's programme and to secure advertisers and sponsors for the event in addition to Boots UK as main sponsor.

30 Days of Fashion & Beauty 2009 will again be supported online with a dedicated website and massive integrated marketing campaign including editorial coverage in all participating NatMag titles. A 16-page 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty supplement will also appear in October issues (on sale September).

Titles involved in the project include Best, Company, Cosmo Bride, Cosmopolitan, Esquire,   Good Housekeeping, Harper's Bazaar, Men's Health, Prima, Reveal, SHE, You & Your Wedding and Zest. Participating websites include handbag.com, cosmopolitan.co.uk and allaboutyou.com .

Fashion and beauty is core to many of NatMag's magazine titles' editorial offering.

30 Days of Fashion & Beauty is designed to celebrate the passions and interests of readers and the industry at large.

About 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty

The National Magazine Company's 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty festival, sponsored by Boots UK, is a month-long event beginning on September 1. The festival explores what fashion and beauty mean to the consumer and aims to reach 10 million women.

30 Days of Fashion & Beauty 2008 was a huge success reaching more than 25 million adults including an impressive 59% of women in the UK. The 30 Days of Fashion & Beauty 2008 website received 1.5 million page impressions and more than 42,000 UK consumers registered on the website.

The 2008 event was firmly placed on the UK Fashion calendar with more than 100 initiatives taking place throughout September, including a Gala Party supported by photographer Mary McCartney which attracted some of the world's top celebrities from Sir Paul McCartney and Tracey Emin, to Kate Hudson and Elle McPherson.

The 30 Days of Fashion & Beauty is a concept inspired by a similar initiative launched by the Hearst Corporation in New York in 2006. It was so popular that is it now a permanent annual fixture in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.  Earlier last year, ACP Magazines in Australia also ran a similar month-long event.
