Men's Health editor Morgan Rees and Esquire Art Director David McKendrick both picked up awards at the annual British Society of Magazine Editors Awards at the London Hilton. Morgan Rees was awarded the prestigious Editors' Editor of the Year award for Men's Health, and David McKendrick won Consumer Magazine Art Director of the Year for Esquire.

Morgan Rees was also awarded Highly Commended in the Editor of the Year Men's Magazines category, as well as being shortlisted for the Innovation/Brand Building Initiative award.  NatMag also had a further nine nominations for Louise Court (nominated for Campaign of the Year for Cosmopolitan),  Jeremy Langmead (nominated for Editor of the Year Men's Magazines and Editors' Editor of the Year for Esquire), Elaine Griffiths (nominated for Editor of the Year Special Interest & Current Affairs for Prima Baby), Victoria White (nominated for Editor of the Year Women's Magazines for Company), Lucy Yeomans (nominated for Editor of the Year Women's Magazines for Harper's Bazaar), Michael Butcher (nominated for Editor of the Year Women's Magazines - weekly or fortnightly for Reveal), Alison Hamlett (nominated for The Fiona MacPherson New Consumer Editor of the Year for Triathlete's World), and Tom Usher (nominated for Consumer Magazines Art Director of the Year for Harper's Bazaar).

Arnaud de Puyfontaine, Chief Executive, NatMag comments:

"Before the awards even took place, it was testament to the strength and talent of NatMag's editors that they were nominated 13 times in 9 categories this year.  Morgan Rees winning the Editor's Editor award really is a crowning achievement in the meteoric success of Men's Health during 2009, and picking up two awards overall amongst fierce competition proves just how hard our editors are working to produce outstanding magazines."

The BSME Awards are the only UK awards run by magazine editors for magazine editors.
