Despite difficult trading conditions nationwide over the past six months, several titles within the NatMag portfolio have continued to sell well. At the same time, a strong focus by NatMag on direct-to-consumer marketing has seen a marked increase in subscriptions for many of its titles.
Two NatMag titles in particular - Men's Health and Reveal - have bucked the downward trend in the men's and weekly celebrity market respectively. Men's Health has recorded an historic 15th consecutive year on year ABC increase up 2.1% while Reveal, which underwent a major revamp last year, has delivered an ABC of 315,660 - up 14% year on year.
Other titles to have recorded an ABC increase include Harper's Bazaar, celebrating its 13th consecutive ABC increase, up 0.5% year on year, and Coast which recorded an increase of 1.5% year on year.
Arnaud de Puyfontaine, Chief Executive, the National Magazine Company says, "The UK economy has experienced particularly difficult times during the past six months, but our ABC figures are encouraging and indicate that the public is still buying magazines for escapism and entertainment and continue to view them as an affordable luxury."
Jessica Burley, Managing Director, the National Magazine Company says, "We are delighted with the ABC results as they continue to show NatMag's strength in an otherwise very difficult market. Most of our titles have grown share within their category and our focus on direct-to-consumer marketing has resulted in an increase in subscriptions within the past six months for many of our publications."
