Alice began her career in book production with Hutchinson following a three-year Diploma in Book & Periodical Production at Napier College. Alice moved on to work at Longman, then Hamlyn working her way up to the role of Production Manager by the age of 25. She became Production Director of the Automobile Association's Publishing Business ten years later.
In 1997 Alice joined the National Magazine Company Board as Group Manufacturing Director. Since then Alice has taken NatMag from analogue to digital production. This was accomplished successfully across the portfolio in under one year, making NatMag one of the first high-quality consumer magazine publishers to achieve this.
In 2005 Alice received the PPA Chairman's Award for services to the industry for her work leading the PPA Production and Technology Committee when it established the first industry standards for digital files and proofs and developed the PPA Certificate in Production Management.
Alice is a member of the PPA's Production and Technology Committee and the PPA's Environment Committee; she is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
